Essential Duties

The Instruction and Outreach Librarian position serves as a critical point of contact between the Library's services and various academic colleges, programs, and departments at Concordia. This position contributes to the University's mission of preparing students for "thoughtful and informed living" by: providing library and information literacy instruction to students and serving as the library's primary representative to the College of Business and Technology and/or other assigned programs for the purposes of advocating for and directly supporting new and existing library services. In addition, this position works closely with Concordia's curriculum and instruction design team to foster and enhance faculty knowledge and skills around online curriculum design as well as maintaining institutional standards for online and in-person instruction.

Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree Required
  • 3-5 Years of instruction experience in an academic library. Experience providing research assistance in multiple formats and venues (in-person, online, group, and individually). Knowledge of information resources across multiple formats and licensing models.
  • Experience working with faculty, academic departments, and others to advocate for and support library services and collections.
  • Experience designing and assessing online instructional materials. Experience with instructional technology, such as Blackboard, WebEx, and other collaborative tools.
