Kid Filmmakers Creatively Retell Great Books in 90 Seconds or Less!
Be part of the fifth annual Minnesota screening of the top films submitted by kid moviemakers to the 90-Second Newbery Film Festival. This national contest celebrates the biggest award in children’s literature by challenging students across the country to make a film that retells the story of a Newbery Award-winning book in no more than 90 seconds.
Screening co-hosts and authors James Kennedy and Jacqueline West will keep the crowd entertained with comedic patter and their favorite 90-second films from Minnesota and across the country.
Join us on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, from 3:00-4:30 PM at the Hennepin County Library-Minneapolis Central, 300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55401, in Pohlad Hall. Admission is FREE. Although you don’t have to register to attend, please let us know you’re coming. RSVP at https://bit.ly/2RnJjSP.
On-site book sales will be provided by Red Balloon Bookshop.
Minnesota’s screening is made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Minnesota Department of Education’s State Library Services division.
