Partner Event: Neurodiversity in the Library: Welcoming the Neurodiverse to your Library

  • Tuesday, April 15, 2025
  • 12:00pm – 1:30pm
  • FREE via Professional Development Alliance

How do we welcome and include the neurodiverse into our physical library spaces? These individuals may find, for various reasons, a library an overwhelming and stressful experience; and they may not even know what might be available to them. This webinar will help participants learn more about neurodiversity and how to serve their neurodiverse community.

This webinar will discuss:
-  What is neurodiversity and the neurodiversity movement?
-  Customer service support, communication, and people first - versus identity-first language
-  Adapting programming for the neurodivergent
-  Programming ideas for the neurodiverse
-  Suggestions and best practices for inclusive library spaces
-  Suggestions on marketing and outreach

Presenter
