The Minnesota Digital Library is hosting an online symposium on Enhancing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) in Digital Collections on Thursday, August 5th. The event will take place from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm Central, and our keynote is Mark Puente, the Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Organizational Development, Diversity, and Inclusion at the Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies. He will be followed by a select panel of speakers from around the country, including Melanie Adams, Director, Anacostia Community Museum; Stephanie Johnson-Cunningham, Co-Founder, Museum Hue; Dr. Adriene Lim, Dean of Libraries, University of Maryland-College Park; Kristi Park, Executive Director, Texas Digital Library; and Dr. Anne Phibbs, Founder and President of Strategic Diversity Initiatives. The event will close with an opportunity to participate in small group discussions to share information and develop potential strategies for action to enhance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in your organization's collection. This symposium is free and open to the public.
