History Day research helps students develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and reading skills. It also helps students build their self-esteem and confidence. This year's theme, Communication in History: The Key to Understanding, is designed to help students think about how communication is used to connect others, how has communication transformed the way people do things, and what forms of communication have been used. In this one hour session, we will discuss the NHD theme and how to apply it to research and final projects. We will also look at the best ELM resources for primary and secondary sources and non-ELM resources, including Minnesota-specific resources, will also be covered.
