Campaign to give teachers resources to expand indigenous curriculum

A recent Minneapolis Star Tribune article details a report commissioned by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community that found "most K-12 Minnesota teachers don't have the confidence or tools needed to teach about Native Americans -- and that the resources available vary widely in quality." The seventh edition of One Book | One Minnesota, Minnesota's statewide book club, will draw to a close on May 15. Readers will have a chance to discuss the book with author Brian Farrey at an online event on Wednesday, May 11 at 1:00 p.m.

Advertisements for Ebooks Minnesota will appear on Metro Transit buses beginning the week of May 2. The ads will run in bus interiors, headlights, and on digital screens at light rail stops. The ads seek to reach readers on the go who may not have the regular opportunity to visit the library.
