Our mission is to provide administrative support to Minitex staff in the areas of human resources, financial services, staff payroll, benefits, and sponsored projects, all while providing excellent customer service.

C+OS facilitates events, runs Minitex News, manages our social media channels, and creates and distributes reports and promotional materials for all of Minitex's services. We also provide comprehensive support to the Minitex staff and serve as their front-line customer service representatives.

In cooperation with more than 40 vendors, we offer discounted pricing on individual and group subscriptions/purchases of a wide variety of electronic resources and library products. We also provide education on emerging technologies relating to electronic resources and library products, schedule trials, help promote electronic resources in your library, and serve as your conduit to vendors.

Description

Minitex Delivery processes incoming materials and sort and pack outgoing materials from all over the Minitex region.  As the Minitex region's backbone delivery network, we also use commercial couriers to deliver book loans, AV material, photocopies and other resources requested by library patrons. Materials are delivered overnight five days a week to most libraries in the Minitex region.

The DIME staff provides services and resources pertaining to cataloging and metadata, digitization and digital preservation, and OCLC products and services. The Minnesota Digital Library staff also reside in the DIME unit.

The Minitex Information Technology staff provides innovative, proactive, and collaborative solutions that achieve the organization's goals while actively exploring emergent technologies in anticipation of future needs.

The Minitex Leadership team is comprised of the Minitex Director along with the heads of Minitex's principal operational units. The group manages staff-related and operational decision-making for Minitex, and leads strategic planning.

MLAC is our high-density storage facility for Minnesota libraries that stores and makes available important but little-used books. Unlike a library which shelves items either by subject or alphabetically by title, MLAC shelves items by size. The goal is to shelve at the highest density possible to maximize space usage.

O&I provides guidance, support, and instruction on the eLibrary Minnesota resources, including Ebooks Minnesota.  They also administer and participate in AskMN, the collaborative virtual reference service in Minnesota.

Description

Minitex Resource Sharing retrieves needed materials from the libraries at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus, or refers the requests to other libraries in the Minitex network—which includes Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. We have a reciprocal agreement with Wisconsin libraries. In addition, we refer requests to the Illinois State Library, as well as the University of Alberta and Lakehead University Library in Canada.
