The Minnesota Digital Library (MDL) has developed a banner exhibit exploring Main Streets in Minnesota. Featuring images from MDL collections, the exhibit argues that “main street” is both a place and an idea. It includes examples of main streets as the center of business and commerce, as travel corridors, and as community gathering spaces. Organizations throughout the state may request to borrow and display the banners at their sites for free.

About the Traveling Exhibit Program
MDL’s traveling banner exhibits are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each traveling exhibit consists of four pop-up banners, and each banner is approximately 33x80 inches. Organizations in Minnesota can borrow the exhibit for up to two months. Free shipping of the exhibits to hosts throughout the state is available upon request via the Minitex courier system, or you can pick them up at our office in Wilson Library on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus.
