During the summers of 2016, 2017, and 2018, local musician James Hersch facilitated a children's music program at the Anoka County Library. Hersch has devoted his musical career writing and performing music with children.

The Anoka County Library summer music program was funded by the Legacy Amendment and allowed Hersch to travel to various library locations in Anoka County. Local children collaborated with Hersch in the writing, recording, and performing of their original songs. At the end of the program, each child received a CD copy of the recordings and gave a concert that was open to the public. The Minnesota Digital Library has recently added these recordings to our digital collections, and we are pleased to share them more widely.
