Quick Summary
Looking for a fresh way to connect your students and teachers with great ELM, EbooksMN and MDL resources? Meet Share Kits, a new monthly resource from Minitex for the 2026-2027 school year.
If you liked the Resource Packs that you could find each month in the Minitex Messenger in the last couple of years, we've got an exciting fresh take on sharing Minitex resources. Each month during the school year, our librarians and curators will put together a small collection of resources from eLibrary Minnesota (ELM), Ebooks Minnesota, and the Minnesota Digital Library (MDL) around a timely or interesting topic. Think of each Share Kit as a starting point with a few resources, a few ideas, and an invitation to explore. Inside of the new public Share Kits Google drive, you'll find a folder for each month containing:
- A Google Slide deck of ELM, Ebooks MN, and MDL resources around the theme that you can take, copy, adapt, and use
- A newsletter blurb language that you can add to your school or library's weekly/monthly updates
- Any supplementary resources related to the theme that may be helpful
Also keep an eye out for the Minitex Instagram post featuring the month's sharekit, another way for you to spread the word! (Not following us yet? Follow Minitex Instagram here!)
Our September Share Kit takes a look at Games and Gaming, with resources for both elementary and secondary audiences. The elementary collection explores the question, "How do video games affect the way we play, learn, and connect with others?" The secondary collection offers resources for exploring prediction markets and their growing presence in our lives.
And please remember you can share it however you like. Copy a slide into your own presentation, send a resource to a teacher, add a link to a newsletter, or simply browse the resources and see what sparks an idea. Sharekits aren't intended to be comprehensive collections or ready-made lessons. They're examples of what you can find in our statewide library resources and invitations to discover more.
