The findings in the report are based on the tracking and monitoring that Media Literacy Now does throughout the year using data collected from public information and internal sources, and compares state progress. Learn more and download the report.

In addition to the state-by-state findings, this report also highlights:

  • Why media literacy matters in today’s media-saturated world
  • The different ways to get media literacy instruction into classrooms
  • Policy and advocacy trends
  • Recommendations for parents, teachers, and policymakers to take action

Media Literacy Now leverages the passion and resources of the media literacy community to inform and drive policy change at local, state, and national levels in the U.S. to ensure all K-12 students are taught media literacy so that they become healthy, confident, and competent media consumers and creators.
