Pine Technical and Community College seeks Library and Student Support Specialist

The Library and Student Support Specialist serves to assist and empower students in reaching their academic and personal goals by supporting access to library resources, research guidance, and integrated learning support services. This role contributes to a welcoming, inclusive, and student-centered environment that promotes information literacy, critical thinking, and independent learning. By working collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff, the position supports initiatives that enhance student engagement, retention and overall success.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of customer service practices and principles sufficient to identify each customer’s needs, meeting quality standards for services, resulting in customer satisfaction.
• Ability to explain policies and procedures in a clear, concise, and professional manner to both internal and external customers.
• Skill in customer service sufficient to provide prompt and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence.
• Knowledge of math sufficient to maintain complete and accurate financial records, balance, and resolve discrepancies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of experience in an administrative support role, or two years of experience working in an academic library.
• Broad-based education sufficient to assist instructors and students with research projects.
• A bachelor’s degree in information technology, education, or the humanities.
• Experience and/or working knowledge of library Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system and electronic library systems.

This is a full-time position. The base pay is $20.76/hour.
