This position supports the on-going management of a growing rare book collection, within the Givens Collection of African American Literature and Life housed at Elmer L. Andersen Library. The temporary employee will work directly with the Curator of the Givens Collection and communicate with University of Minnesota Libraries to re-catalog the existing rare book collection and to catalog newly acquired books for the John S. Wright Collection of Africana Studies and Criticism.

Required Qualifications
- Attention to detail in an environment with repetitive tasks.
- Basic office skills, especially sorting and accurate typing.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest in African American literature and history.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff.
