Minitex Closed December 24-25

The Minitex office and the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities campus) will be closed Thursday, December 24, through Friday, December 25. We will reopen Monday, December 28, at 8:00 a.m. Have a safe and pleasant holiday!

Photo:  Mary Mortenson's photo of ornaments she created out of the teletype tape that ferried requests between libraries and Minitex, from our experimental start to the early 1980s. Minitex is entering its 50th year, and Mary was one of its first student employees. Rolls of teletype tape needed replacing—each roll had a long section of pink-colored tape, to alert operators a new roll would be needed soon.
