The History Section of ALA's Reference and User Services Association invites you to their webinar, Teaching with Primary Sources, on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 - 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm (Central)

A general introduction to teaching with primary sources, this webinar will:

  • Provide a broad overview of the landscape across multiple professions and specialties, from museum education to K12 teachers
  • Emphasize academic librarians, undergraduate students, using digitized primary source collections, and collaborating with special collections librarians and archivists
  • Cater to librarians unfamiliar with teaching with primary sources
  • Answer "why teach with primary sources?" and explore both benefits and challenges
  • Suggest tips for finding relevant collections, working with instructors/teachers, collaborating with other library/archives colleagues
  • Provide a roadmap for logistical and pedagogical planning through a series of decisions and questions
