Presentations at the 18th Annual Minitex Interlibrary Loan Conference, which was held May 19, 2009 in
St. Paul, provided attendees with a perspective on the future of library automation, practical tips
and tools to help improve the quality of their work, and an update on Minitex resource sharing programs
and services.
Marshall Breeding, Vanderbilt University, discussed current library automation trends and looked toward
the future for library automation in general—and resource sharing, in particular. Management
consultant Ray Wilson discussed specific quality improvement tools and how they can be used in the
workplace. Bill DeJohn provided an update on Minitex activities in Fiscal Year 2009 and discussed possible
challenges coming for Minitex and participating libraries in Fiscal Year 2010.
