EBSCO eBook Collection Administration, Training & Promotion

Administration

The EBSCOhost Collection Manager is the librarian's value-added reference tool. Once you set up a profile for your library, ECM's intuitive technology will automatically suggest new titles that meet the profile's criteria as they're loaded. Choose to automatically purchase suggested titles, or receive alerts to review select titles to add to your collection as needed – enabling you to browse and order suggested eBook and audiobook titles in a fraction of the time.

Accessing the Collection Manager

If you are having problems accessing the Collection Manager, please use EBSCO's online contact form to submit your issue. In the message box, provide a detailed description of the problem you are experiencing.

By submitting your issue online, EBSCO is able to collect technical information about your EBSCO account.

Training

The EBSCO eBook Support Center offers training materials to orient your reference staff and patrons.

For more training options, such as web-based services, contact training@ebsco.com for details.

Minitex can also provide training on the EBSCO eBook Collection. If you are interested, please contact our Reference Outreach & Instruction staff.

eBook Tools & Resources

The EBSCO eBooks Support Center website is designed to provide everything you need to integrate and use eBooks successfully in your library or organization. The eBook Tools & Resources will help you make your eBooks easily accessible, learn how to use collection development and usage tracking tools, and create and execute a PR, promotion and marketing plan. Promotional resources available on the site include press releases, newsletter and newspaper articles, ads, flyers, and display materials, such as posters, bookmarks and balloons.

MARC Records

Loading EBSCO eBook Collection MARC records into your catalog is also a great way to advertise and promote eBook discovery and usage. There is a positive correlation between usage of the eBooks and inclusion of the titles in a library's online catalog.

eBook Demo

A four-minute, animated demonstration covers eBook on EBSCOhost basics. By integrating the demo into your website's eBook information, you provide your end users with a quick and interesting way to learn how to access and use your eBooks. The page also has a link to a demo on downloading EBSCO eBooks and one on EBSCO Audiobooks.
