World News Connection Archive

The World News Connection started in 1995 by providing access to unfiltered press dispatches – methodically translated into English by the US Government. WNC provides immediate access to significant socioeconomic, political, scientific, technical, and environmental issues and events in a specific country or region. It grew to over 500 news sources from 130 countries.

Recently the U.S. Government announced it was discontinuing daily updates for WNC after December 31, 2013. Because East View has been authorized to build and host the archive of WNC (Nov 1995-Dec 31, 2013), researchers will still have access to over 1 million foreign newspaper articles, broadcast transcripts and datelines from Beijing, Beirut, Bogota, Cairo, Jakarta, Iraq, Mogadishu, Qatar, Ramallah, Sarajevo, Vienna, and hundreds of other spots around the world.

EVGeoCloud

EVGeoCloud is a web-based platform that provides easy online access to geospatial data.

East View Geospatial (EVG) currently hosts many terabytes of vector data, raster data, and digital maps. When connected to the EVGeoCloud platform, campus computers can easily access a wide range of readily available geospatial data. EVGeoCloud can also host universities' existing data and provide access to all through a single entry point. Finally, EVG can inexpensively process and mount your flat maps, old CDs, and hard drives of geospatial data onto EVGeoCloud.
